Discover How to Recover From Burnout and Find Relief From Stress

Cheri, April 16, 2025April 16, 2025

Do you have tension in your neck muscles that just never seems to leave? Do you constantly feel physically and mentally exhausted no matter how much sleep you get? Are you struggling to cope with the demands of motherhood and other responsibilities, feel like a bad mom, or find yourself experiencing sudden outbursts of anger or frustration?

If I were to ask you if you’re feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or burned out my guess is you’d be saying YES! How do I know this because I too have been there. I know how overwhelming life can feel especially as a mom, we juggle a lot and carry a heavy mental load, so there’s no shame here because I know how it feels. That’s why I want to bring awareness to mom burnout and give you advice on how to recover from burnout because too many mommas are going through it and it’s not a great way to go though life. Mommas you deserve better and so do your children.

If you have been following me for a while you can probably guess what I’m about to say but it’s truly an important aspect to finding your way out of burnout and preventing it from happening in the future. It’s Self – Care, believe me when I say this SELF CARE IS ESSENTIAL IN RELIEVING

CHRONIC STRESS (otherwise known as burnout).

Before we dive into self care to help you recover from burnout, it’s helpful to dig into the underlying causes of your burnout. When you know what’s causing the burnout you can make adjustments. Typically you’re experiencing mental, emotional or physical stressors. Knowing what’s causing your stress can help you determine what changes you can make to eliminate future stress.

🍃If you need help digging deeper into what’s causing your stress and burnout grab my (Burnout recovery journal to gain a deeper understanding and establish an action plan to reduce stress and recover from burnout https://momplicity.blog/product/burnout-recovery-journal/

Ok so now that you have a better understanding of what’s behind your stress and burnout now it’s time to work on recovering. If your new to the concept of self care a few things I want it mention. Self care is not selfish and start small so it feels manageable.

🍃 Here are some Simple Daily Rituals you can do to ease stress and incorporate self care in your busy schedule

Morning: Start the day with a few slow deep breaths, gratitude practice or a moment in prayer

Midday: Take 5 minutes to stretch, hydrate, or step outside.

Evening: Unplug from screens and engage in a calming activity before bed such as reading, stretching or meditation

🍃When we reach the point of burn out it’s a sign we need to slow down and do some work on ourselves. Essentially self care isn’t a big elaborate routine it’s taking time for ourselves to gain a deeper understanding on what we are feeling, and brining our needs to our attention.

Often times as busy women and moms we stuff our feelings down, brush aside things that come up with our health and just continue to push on through neglecting ourselves in an unhealthy way. It’s not necessarily our fault because we are all guilty of doing this at some point in our lives. Society has conditioned us that slowing down or being unproductive is lazy or lowers our worth. Even as Christian’s we have a servant mindset and way of living so I just want to remind us that even Jesus rested, he ate when he was hungry and went to solitary places when he needed time alone.

As we close I want to remind you that Self care and acknowledging your mental and physical needs is the key to recovering and preventing future burnout.

Try these Affirmations to help you achieve Rest & Recovery from burnout, overwhelm and stress :

🍃Rest is productive.🍃I am worthy of self-care and balance.🍃 Taking breaks allows me to show up fully in my life.
