As moms you are the architect of your family and career …the time and attention you give to the construction of your life will determine whether your family, goals, priorities, and work will stand the test of time …. What are you building??
.. Is it something that lasts ?
I’ll be honest I was so busy going through the motions of life … basically living in survival mode I never stopped and took the time to think about the vision for my family. What was the family dynamic I wanted to create … what was truly important to us… what values did we want to instill in our children… what traditions did we want to create? It actually made me really sad and I felt guilty that I was this far into motherhood and never thought about these things well I mean seriously thought about them in a way that made me have total clarity and take action on building that family vision .
So if you are like me and don’t have a clear definition of what you want for your family .. if you don’t know how you want to live as a family and what things matter most ….take some time to think about what’s important to you … talk it over with your spouse .. pray over it and take notes.
Once you figure out your priorities that will help you set your schedule and give you better clarity to what you will commit to moving forward.
For my family our priorities are ….
Cooking together and having dinner as a family
Training our children to be involved in the family household responsibilities
Reading time together as a family
Family devotions and growing in our faith
Providing a Godly homeschool environment nurturing emotional, spiritual and physical needs and providing a solid foundation for their future endeavors
Each child can sign up for one extra curricular besides church group to allow for time of family connection
To connect and serve in our local church
Be open to what God calls us to and follow him
🍃Make it your mission to get total clarity on your family priorities and write them down … it’s helpful to put them in a place your whole family sees so it’s a daily reminder … you can even print and frame it or write your list on a chalkboard that hangs in your kitchen
Having this clarity will bring you one step closer to living a simple mindful mom life!
